Do you feel like you have to wear makeup to look beautiful?
We're still talking all things beauty and faith! In part 1 of 3, I sat down with Alison and Hesed talking about whether women feel pressured to wear makeup in order to feel beautiful.
When all is stripped away
I talk about loving the skin you’re in and accepting your flaws a lot, and most of the time, I believe it. But not always. We can all admit that the pressure to have to look good is real. And women tend to be hit the hardest. The beauty market thrives off selling us the lie that we’re not pretty enough, and it’s a lie that we so easily buy. I’ve found it's a lot easier to conform to beauty standards but harder to arrive at a point of self-acceptance.
"It is finished."
One of the greatest things Jesus ever said was, “It is finished”. It was a cry of victory that would bring hope for many to come. But what did His sacrifice really mean for us?
Love yourself less
I was once told, believer or not “we all worship something”. Whether that’s money, fame, family, education or ourselves. Our love and admiration go towards something. But at what point does self-love become toxic?
God’s love language
Love languages can help you and bae love each other better. In most healthy relationships, you want to do what makes the other person happy and vice versa. So naturally, when it comes to our relationship with God, the same should apply.
