Must read books by Tobi Grace
Welcome back to our readers corner! This time we have Tobi Grace, Booktuber and Student, sharing her top 3 must read books!
Daughter You Can Make It, Dag Heward-Mills
One of my favourite chapters in this book is called ‘Daughter While You Wait.’ Bishop Dag gives us encouragement on what to do whilst we wait for certain things to happen in life. One of the things Bishop Dag instructs us to do is: Notice God’s Blessings around us. Amidst the chaos, there is beauty and being in quarantine is the perfect time to reflect. Reflect on the things that have brought happiness pre-quarantine, notice what is bringing you joy through quarantine and by the grace of God be expectant of the beautiful things you have to look forward to post quarantine and thank God for them.
The Delivery Room - Kika Ashanike
Before you read this book, be ready. Clear your mind and tell yourself that no matter how much it hurts, no matter how much you want to be defensive and make excuses, you will be open and honest. Kika’s book discusses the struggles of being a young Christian women in the 21st century. The tiles of her chapters include the ‘Stink of rejection.’ and ‘Death by a thousand paper cuts’ whether we want to admit it or not, we’ve all been hurt and a lot of times we sweep it under the rug. This book is detailed and explains common places we as women struggle and how through Christ we can overcome.
Proverbs
Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down. Wisdom is the principle thing! Ladies, lets make a pact, lets refuse to leave this quarantine season without a spiritual glow up! Our main source of wisdom is and should always be the Word of God. This season let’s all choose a book from the Bible and not just glance over it but STUDY it, refusing to leave God’s presence without a revelation. I’m fully believing that if I stay in the word of God, I will come out stronger, bolder and more directed and I am praying for the same to happen in your life too.
My words of encouragement for women in quarantine: ‘I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.’ – John 14:27 NLT.
