How to make 2023 your best year yet...

We’re already in the second month of the year and I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of social media posts flooded with content about how we can master 2023.

Wake up at 6 am, journal, gym, work, side hustle, romanticize your life, and repeat.

It can seem like there is one set routine for the successful woman in 2023 and the world finds itself grappling to master it. But if we are all made by God for a specific purpose, should our 2023 goals look the same? Have you stopped to ask your Maker what His plan for you is this year?

1. Just because it's good doesn't mean it's God: Seek His will

1 Chronicles 17 tells the story of King David, who loved God so much that he wanted to build Him a glorious temple. Although this was a beautiful gesture of his passion for God, it wasn’t God’s will. Rather, God wanted David to prepare the way for his son Solomon to build the greatest temple known to man. Like David, we may already have many amazing things on our 2023 to-do list. Greater maturity should compel us to pause, place our list in God’s hands and seek His perfect will (Rom 12:2).

2. Ask God for the 'what' and the 'how'

Once God has given us the big picture, it is important to keep seeking direction and discern how He wants us to get there. A David confronting Goliath without a 'how' might not have picked up 5 stones and a sling (1 Sam 17:40). A Jesus saving mankind without a ‘how’ might not have submitted Himself to death on a cross (Philippians 2:8).

Here are some prompts to get you started:

"What is Your will for me in 2023?"
“I know you gave me X idea. What’s the next step in making this happen?”
“I struggle with Y. Please show me how I can work on that in 2023”
“I really want to do Z. Is this in Your will for me?”
