"Unveiling the Eternal Puzzle: Navigating the Challenge of Love"
Love.
The word alone carries so much weight. Whilst in prayer, one word lingered in my spirit, and that was: challenge.
God reminded me of the scripture: "And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” - Ephesians 5:2
"Walk in love"
Walking is something we do daily. This means the challenge to do everything in love is a daily requirement of us. What is the purpose of “walking”? Walking gets you from point A to point B.
There are days where our patience is tested, however, it is required of us to act and react with love. Sometimes that could mean helping somebody in need or speaking kindly, when you don’t want too. It’ll mean when those Mondays seem extra dreary, you’ll walk in love. When someone cuts you in traffic, you’ll (drive?) in love. When someone tries to tear you down, you’ll react in love.
"As Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us"
Love can be challenging and requires sacrifice. Whether that is in time, effort, deeds or in Christs’ case, death. Jesus loved us and so he gave himself up for us. He is a constant reminder of how we’re meant to live our lives - and that starts with His greatest commandment: Love one another, as He first loved us.
And let’s be real, some people make it very hard for us to love them. But by reacting in a lovingly manner, we become better representatives of Christ and simultaneously better versions of ourselves.
I’ve made it my own goal to follow His footsteps and live as a true Christian, and encourage you to do the same. With that being said, I will also need your prayers for God’s divine intervention, because while I am glad, I have pinpointed this challenge and made it my goal, implementing it will be a whole other level of discipline…Sisters, can I get an Amen?
